Development of numerical modellig of electrostatic precipitators for the examination of different supply modes

THESIS TOPIC PROPOSAL

Thesis supervisor: István Kiss
Location of studies (in Hungarian): Villamos Energetika Tanszék
Abbreviation of location of studies: VET

Description of the research topic:

Electrostatic precipitators are widely used in air pollution control. In certain cases the technology where they are used are changing thus the parameters determining their operation are also change. Based on industrial experience in some cases upgrading of supply mode is enough to handle this change, but sometimes significant upgrade is necessary. To decide which one is necessary, appropriate simulation can give useful information. For that purpose the upgrade of existing model especially the evaluation of different supply modes is the goal of the research work.
