Description of the research topic:

More than 50% of the conventional hydrocarbon is found in carbonate rocks. The geological background of carbonate reservoirs is much more complex than that of siliciclastic ones. For detailed hydrocarbon production detailed sedimentological examination of the rock containing the reservoir is essential, with particular emphasis to the diagenesis history. It is an important research task to gain a detailed understanding of the geological background, which can significantly improve hydrocarbon forecasting and extraction efficiency.
