Description of the research topic:
Stirred media mills are efficient to produce ground material in the submicron and nano particle size ranges, especially in wet media. Dry application is still a limited field today due to anti-milling, aggregation and agglomeration processes, but it is also receiving increasing attention at the research and application level. In order to develop dry stirred media milling, an air-transported, continuous dry stirred media mill was already built, with the ultimate goal of producing submicron and nano ground materials energy-efficiently. The research focuses on the development of the present mill and process, in the framework of which it is necessary to develop the design of the stirred media milling system, and to investigate the correlations between the grinding and operating parameters and the dispersity property of the product.
