Description of the research topic:
The interaction of groundwater and rock/soil matrix is a key element of understanding hydrogeological, geotechnical, heat- and contaminant transport processes. Since the interaction of solid, liquid and gas phases takes place in a complex system where different processes suffer high intensity interaction which is to be investigated using different, problem scientific focus. The topic encompasses wide range of problems in contaminant hydrogeology, groundwater prospection, geothermal system design, environmental geotechnics which assure high level of freedom and flexibility for choosing a subtopic to be investigated. The detailed scope of investigation is to be tailored to the selected problem and the personal interest of the PhD student. PhD student may perform lab and field tests and analyses, analytic measurements, comparative evaluation studies, innovative data processing, non-destructive and other special analyses, remote sensing data processing, etc. In frame of this topic an individual research work can be performed which is controlled, supervised and consulted by the professor.
