Description of the research topic:
Cereals are damaged by several diseases, which may result accumulation of mycotoxins in the crop in addition to yield loss and deterioration. During the project, we study the natural fungal infection of small-grain cereals and maize hybrids in the fields and under laboratory conditions. The aim of the project is to develop a method, which suitable for multitoxin analysis, which will make possible fast determination of the total toxin spectrum of a large sample of crops after harvest. In view of the results the human and animal food safety risk can be reduced.
