Description of the research topic:

I consider PhD applications in the field of sociopragmatics, including the above themes of intercultural communication and linguistic (im)politeness. Other areas of research that I am interested to supervise include language aggression, computer-mediated communication, historical pragmatics, and research on various sociopragmatic phenomena such as heckling, trolling and sarcasm.
