Description of the research topic:
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is a rather relevant topic nowadays. On one hand it can be supported by the high number national and international researches carried out in this field. On the other hand it can be supported by the increasingly significant social and natural problems and inequalities. Social responsibility can be expected from each company independently from its size. Responsibility is growing together with the number and size of the stakeholders of the company. The question of social responsibility is rather complex in case of multinational companies, since their business transactions overarch countries, their economic power is significant that can even lead to unlawful or unethical business practices. The aim of the research is to map the CSR activity, instruments, motivations, practices of multinational companies (after defining the scope of companies to be studied /regional and/or sectoral/), as well as the available international guidelines and their mechanisms of action developed by international bodies (ILO, UN, OECD, etc.) for multinational companies by using qualitative and quantitative research methods.
