Description of the research topic:

Resilience is an emerging concept in social sciences, including geography, and opens brand new perspectives not only by the interpretation of spatial and social processes, but by the planning a better future for these communities. Researching the ability of the flexible response needs qualitative approaches and perhaps participant observation and reflexivity. Research proposals on small-scale communities (up to the level of small towns) are especially welcomed.
