Description of the research topic:
Middle to Upper Eocene sedimentary cycles can be traced along the strike of the Transdanubian Range from the SW to the NE, showing separate spatial extension. However, in the area of the Buda Hills their connection to each other is not clear enough. These cycles seem to be overlap on one another along the Late Eocene paleoenvironmental boundary of the Buda Line. The aim of the research is to carry out detailed sedimentological and stratigraphical evaluation of the Middle and Upper Eocene formations on both sides of the Buda Line to specify their position and to reconstruct the evolution of the sedimentary environment.
