Description of the research topic:
Geochemistry of organic matter rich sedimentary rocks reflects the formation and impacts of geological processes. They often contain higher concentration heavy metals, which increase the ash content of coal. Preparation technique and the utilisation of these coals depend on the recognition of phase and format of ash minerals and trace elements. The objective of the proposed study is to clarify the depositional environment, origin, and phase of elevated concentrations of trace metals in coal-bearing sequences, using petrology and other analytical methods.
