Description of the research topic:

As humans also for autonomous vehicles urban settings are much more complicated that rural roads.

Research questions are:

- What kind of civil engineering measures can help autonomous vehicles in urban settings?
- Should we change urban road design guidelines in order to help autonomous vehicles in safe driving?
- If yes, what? E.g. marking of elevated curbs, traffic calming devices, special pavement surfaces, parking facilities, signalized intersections.
