Description of the research topic:

The aim of the planned research is a complex study of the pathogenicity of certain model organisms (e.g. Lichtheimia, Mucor, Scedosporium) of opportunistic infections caused by filamentous fungi. The study will focus on the following fields: examination of the possible methods of the molecular identification, testing the antifungal susceptibility and the activity of new antifungal agents and identification and characterization of possible virulence factors of the fungi.
