Description of the research topic:
The increasing number and proportion of urban population changes its direct environment more and more. The monitoring of geographical phenomena and processes (green areas, air and surface temperature) related to land use changes can be executed using satellite and aerial remote sensing data with various spatial, spectral and temporal resolution. The related GIS and image processing methodology is developing rapidly, offering new possibilities in the development of methods complementing applied research.
