Description of the research topic:
Nowadays many forms of digital elevation information becomes available for applications in Earth Sciences. This information is used to derive a multitude of land surface parameters that are the basis for scientific research and real word applications. The quality and reliability of the parameters strongly affects the usability of the data; different applications have different requirements. The aim of this research is to develop a standardized method to determine the usability of digital elevation information and its derived parameters for different applications.
