Description of the research topic:

Interactions between people with different language and cultural backgrounds provide opportunities for investigation of cultural differences, contrasting (in)formal language usage, speech acts, especially linguistic means for expressing (im)politeness. Analysis and comparison of intra- and intercultural communication, description of culture-specific traits and other contrastive pragmatic approaches, how new forms of communication and information technology, and globalisation affect our culture.
