Description of the research topic:

Cognitive (e.g. language aptitude and working memory) and affective (e.g. motivation and anxiety) differences between learners play a much greater role when learning a foreign language as compared to acquiring their mother tongue. The aim of the research is investigating the role of these individual differences between learners coming from different cultural backgrounds and contexts.
