Doctoral School of Physics

Thesis supervisor: Zoltán Bajnok
Location of studies (in Hungarian): ELTE, Wigner FK
Abbreviation of location of studies: ELTE

Description of the research topic:

"Integrable Quantum Field Theories play a crucial role in various parts of physics. Besides describing strongly anisotropic materials they provide simplified, exactly soluble models for particle physics. The exact solutions then can be used to test approximate methods or to understand non-perturbative phenomena including confinement and dynamical mass generation. Additionally, using the holographic duality, they can describe strongly coupled four dimensional gauge theories or quantum string theories.
The task of the applicant is to develop new methods for the finite-size effects of integrable models and to apply them for concrete models. "

Knowledge of Quantum Field Theory
