Description of the research topic:

Application of prophilactic pancreas stents during ERCP has been suggested by ESGE to reduce post-ERCP complications in high-risk patient groups to prevent post-ERCP pancreatitis. New indications for small caliber pancreatic stent application have emerged recently to reduce complications and mortality of early stage post-ERCP and biliary pancreatitis. Our research aim is to analyze the safety, efficacy, and feasibility of prophylactic pancreatic stents in patients with ongoing early obstructive pancreatitis due to gallstones or papillary oedaema caused by previous ERCP.
