Description of the research topic:

Several carbohydrate-binding proteins are able to bind to the membrane-protein and membrane-lipid associated glycocalyx, and regulates a lot of signalization pathways. The carbohydrate binding proteins, which are able to bind to the glycocalix located around the neuronal and glial cell, could be easily examined in vitro conditions, and their new neuronal tissue specific functions could be discovered in cell cultures.
