Description of the research topic:

The pancreas secretes 1-2 litres of bicarbonate-rich fluid daily, whish is predominantly produced by duct cells. The exact mechanism of bicarbonate secretion is unclear and it is also unknown how this process is affected during pancreatitis. In this project, we are looking for answers to these questions.
