Description of the research topic:
The universal algebraic methods used in the solution of the constraint
satisfaction problem have spurred a renewed interest in clones and
Maltsev conditions. This research project is aiming to study minimal
Taylor varieties, minimal congruence meet semi-distributive varieties,
and the lattice of interpretability types of varieties. Proficient
knowledge of elementary group theory, lattice theory and basic notions
in model theory is required.
