Description of the research topic:
Studying Post-War (after WWII) changes of Eastern and Central Europian settlements, including the ones of Hungary, is still in its infancy.
In the framework of doctoral research the following aspects can be proposed:
- Connections of urban morphology and urban design of the era
- Morphological changes of historic settlements influenced by the state socialist processes of urban design
- Changing of the roles of state socialist ’new-cities’ -- post-socialism/post-industrialism, the tools to find the new city-brand
- Special features of building the ’new-cities’ -- research on connections of urban design and architecture
- Changes of the roles of the city centers during state socialism
- Paradigm changes in urban architecture (social realism – social modernism)
- Patterns of urban design of social realism, their urban context, their present state
