Description of the research topic:

Diversity itself provides information about different properties of populations and communities. Traditional field methods of ecology together with the application of the molecular markers can be used to infer population history and understand assembly rules. Main research topics:
(1) genetic diversity of populations, reconstruction of population history
(2) structure of populations, migration and isolation
(3) species and community, phylogeny and phylogenetic diversity
