Description of the research topic:

Various multi-wavelength photoacoustic instrumentations are available for precise and accurate investigation of the absorption responses and mixing state of the ambient and artificially generated model aerosol in the Photoacoustic Research Group, at University of Szeged, Department of Optics and Quantum Electronics. Since the mixing state of the ambient aerosol depends strongly on its combustion process and source too, revealing and quantifying the correlation in between the mixing states and the corresponding absorption responses provide novel, unique opportunity in real time characterisation and source apportionment of ambient aerosol.
The proposed works of the candidates including experimental measurement of artificially generated model with well-defined mixing states and posteriorly temperature treated ambient aerosol. Determining and depicting the relationship between the mixing state and the absorption spectra. Participating in laboratory and field measurement campaign, data evaluation and interpretation.
