Description of the research topic:

Small bowel capsule endoscopy became the gold standard method in the diagnosis of small bowel diseases and obscure GI bleeding. However, the optimal preparation and methodology to maximize the diagnostic yield has not been established. Moreover, new capsule technologies to investigate the esophagus and the colon with capsule endoscopy have been developed recently. The aim of our research is to compare different capsule technologies and to improve methodology in the investigation of different parts of the GI tract.
