Description of the research topic:
Certain steps of photoinduced surface processes proceed on a time scale of a few or few tens of femtoseconds, e.g. in the field of photocatalysis or photovoltaics. Examples can be found among electron or hole transport phenomena, exciton dynamics, etc. The period of plasmonic oscillations can be even shorter, in the attosecond range. The aim of our research is to understand these processes on surfaces and surface nanostructures. For example, we are planning to study electron transfer perovskites and semiconductors, and molecular switching on surfaces. We intend to use mainly the research infrastructure of ELI-ALPS, which will allow photoelectron spectroscopy with lateral (angular) and temporal resolution, even with spin filtering from the end of 2019.
