Syllabus
One of the possible reasons of the popularity of hypertext is the hypertextual organization of some aspects of the human mental system, knowledge and natural language texts. The basic aim of the research is the re-thinking of certain areas of cognitive science using the hypertext paradigm.
Recommended topics:
Hypertext models. The hypertext paradigm in textology and stylistics. The structure and function of language. Syntax and semantics. Categorization. The structure and comprehension of sentences and texts. Metaphors. Sentence and text production. Language acquisition. Second language acquisition and language learning strategies. Language and communication. Emotion and social interactions. Hypertext and literature. The nature, sources and structure of the mental lexicon. The representation of meaning. Mental models. The architecture of cognition. Language and thought. The language and the brain. Models and organization of human memory. Karl Popper’s ideas about the human knowledge.
