Description of the research topic:
Architecture – as the profession with a prestige and usage of a name of its own – like several other relative fields, actually was born in the Renaissance environment. We are aware of different sources, we know Ancient Egypt there was Imhotep (Sakkara) or a Sen-en-Mut (Deir-El-Bahari), the names of Iktinos and Kallikrates (Athens), the Polykleitos and architektons (Epidauros) were both known, and the early Medieval intervariums wrote about Tralles Anthémios and the Miletos Izidoros (Istambul) or about Odó, the designing pope (Aachen), but these names were all and only exceptions. The architectural autonomy was the invention of humanism, and within that invented by the pre-capitalist Firenze. But since then, several centuries must have passed before architecture achieved that architects with their own interventions and conventions gave the essential value of it instead of the throne or church.
