Description of the research topic:
The history of political thinking contains a number of canonized authors, from Plato to Machiavelli, from Mill to Rawls. Literary text can be equally useful to discuss and explore problems of political thinking, however. Rhetorics, manipulation, power, legitimacy, utopianism, to name a few, are sometimes more fruitfully presented (though not necessarily analysed) in novels and plays, for instance, than in abstract treatises. Political theory can benefit a lot from such texts, both substantially and methodologically
