Description of the research topic:
Darwinian medicine involves the study of the evolutionary background of diseases. In this doctoral project we aim to develop formal mathematical and/or simulation models to test the feasibility of our earlier hypotheses on the 'microbiome mutiny' and on 'paradoxical tumour traits' -- the theoretical background of both topics can be found in my publication list. Further related problems might also be tackled by mutual consent.
Required language skills: English Further requirements: Some experience with mathematical modelling and/or computer programming.
