Description of the research topic:
The adoption of social and environmental responsibility by companies is seen as a way to implement the concept of sustainable development. The consideration of sustainability principles has been substantially increased as the global economy calls for more attention to the role of sustainable development and just like in all other industries, this consideration is now largely noticeable in the oil and gas sector (mainly as a results of their possible impact on environment and their operation area based on non-renewable resources). The objective of the PhD topic is to study and reveal specifications of how oil and gas companies can maintain a sustainable relationship with their physical environment, internal human and external social environment. Its examination requires emprirical and non-empirical approaches.
