Description of the research topic:

Bacteria, as single-cell organisms, uptake nutrients by their membrane transporters and, in some cases, remove waste products or other undesirable toxic compounds. By investigating these transporters, we can acquire a deeper insight into bacterial transport processes. Our objective is to investigate transporters that can be overexpressed in Escherichia coli expression system and can be purified in mg quantity for structural and functional analysis.
