Description of the research topic:
The concept of digitizing everything is becoming a reality, especially in automotive industry. Automation of manufacturing and logistics operations and processes, application of artificial intelligence and machine learning, appearance of Internet of Things and other advanced technologies, like digital twinning offers a wide range of benefits for the society.
Industry 4.0 technologies make it possible to build interconnected logistic solutions, where the objective of increasing efficiency, availability, reliability and cost efficiency while decreasing energy consumption and economic footprint is targeted at the global level.
Within the frame of this research work the optimisation possibilities of logistic solutions applying Industry 4.0 technologies are aimed especially from heuristic and metaheuristic optimisation of complex systems point of view.
