Description of the research topic:

Virtual reality (VR) is not just a platform for gaming and entertainment - increasingly, it is also expected to become a new medium of communication and collaboration. Information - both 2D and 3D - can be shared and presented much more effectively using 3D virtual spaces than using more traditional directory and file structures. The goal of this research is to find ways to create VR spaces that are adaptive and configurable using an already existing desktop-based VR environment. Students working on this topic will be expected to develop models for both the users of the environment and the data that is shared through the environment, in order to facilitate faster communication through VR spaces.
