Description of the research topic:

With respect to national economic issues it is essential to ensure fire protection of buildings being an important component of the infrastructure. Nowadays, secure architecture which complies the fire safety regulations has an outstanding actuality. The rules for establishing structures, including fire safety norms has tightened considerably in the past few years. In addition to the increased requirements concerning construction and use, the occurrence of fires should be eliminated. A large fire with serious consequences can pose serious threats to humans and to the built and the natural environment alike. Preventing fires, ensuring the protection of building structures against fire, increasing resistance to fire load constitute a major challenge to planning organizations and professionals being in charge of fire protection. Research and development is essential to increase efficiency of the procedures helping the fire resistance of structures. The goal of the research is to determine fire resistance of materials and structures in a real built in situation based on full-scale tests.
