Optimization of solar thermal storage for HVAC and DHW systems in different building types

Description of the research topic:

The research will be done based on three main steps: theoretical, numerical and experimental. In the theoretical part, it will be interested in developing mathematical models to describe the various interactions and thermal and energetic exchanges for the different applications, which allowed us to perform theoretical simulations describing the energetic and thermal behavior of the hot-storage tank.
The main objectives of the research are:
- Evaluating the impact of hot water consumption on solar collector type selection.
- Identifying the impact of applications (air-conditioning & DHW) and the consumption profile on the storage.
- Modeling the optimal hot-storage tank for certain building applications.
