Dissertations explore the traces of cultural assumptions and myths in 19th- and 20th-century British and postcolonial (literary and filmic) narratives, drawing upon a wide range of theoretical backgrounds (narrative theories, cultural criticism, psychoanalysis, gender studies, postcolonial theory, deconstruction, phenomenology, memory and trauma studies, ethical criticism, spatial criticism)
