Description of the research topic:
Multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWNT) have attracted considerable attention in recent years, most notably because of their extraordinary mechanical and unique electronic properties and might find application on several fields. Before certain applications, for better wettability and improved load transfer, their surface modification is recommended. The goal of the work is to prepare homogeneous layer of inorganic coating over MWNTs. It is important to find a method for controlling their thickness, homogeneity, structure, crystallinity, etc. Detailed characterization (TEM, SEM, Raman, IR, UV-vis, XRD, etc.) of the samples is also important.
