Description of the research topic:
Unhealthy dietary habit is the most important source of health loss in Hungary, which contributes to the development and impairs the prognosis of different cardio-metabolic diseases and obesity. The systematic, organized screening based dietary counselling is evidence-based intervention to modify eating habit, to prevent the development and to improve the prognosis of cardio-metabolic disorders. Dietary counselling is hardly available in Hungarian primary care, which limits the effectiveness of long-term care for patients. The novel GP cluster model makes available the organized health status assessment based dietary counselling as an integrated part of the primary care. The aim of the project is to describe the health effects of the dietary counselling integrated into primary care among patients with cardio-metabolic disorders; and to elaborate an indicator set which can be applied in monitoring the quality and effectiveness of primary-care-integrated dietary counselling.
