Description of the research topic:

In the past years a significant effort at the MIRDC was devoted to the research of IT solutions for supporting diabetes management. This research topic is based on the past results in this field and also on a forthcoming larger scale (n=200) evaluation type clinical study coordinated by the University of Szeged in which our lifestyle logging technology is planned to be used. The main research directions are as follows.

Improving the accuracy of previous short term (4 h) blood glucose (BG) prediction models via improved algorithms modeling the dynamical behaviour CGM tissue sensor
Developing and training a special version of the BG prediction algorithm for time periods in and after social and mental stress, using clinical measurements
Analyzing the effect of gamification and personalized motivation in lifestyle logging in an outpatient clinical trial on applied telemedicine

Integrating qualitative, personalized BG prediction in lifestyle logging and validating it in an outpatient clinical trial on applied telemedicine
