Description of the research topic:
Various genotoxicological exposures can exist in the environment, especially in certain work settings. The characterisation of these effects is necessary for adequate hazard identification, risk assessment and for effective, scientifically sound risk management. The goal of the PhD project is the assessment of DNA damage induced by risk factors in the environment, especially in occupational settings. The primarily used genotoxicological test is the DNA microgel electrophoresis (comet assay). The sensitive test is capable of detecting a range of different types of DNA damage and is applied in vitro on primary and secondary cultures of potential target cells
Required language skills: English Competent user (IELTS6 Recommended language skills (in Hungarian): Proficient user Further requirements: Laboratory experience with molecular biological methods. Previous work with genotoxicological tests and cell culturing, basic knowledge of biostatistics, occupational and environmental health are advantages.
