Description of the research topic:
GIS is a basic tool for spatial data management. Despite of the richness of available digital data sources, like terrain data, satellite data (especially the Sentinal data) and several digitized data layers of the traditional maps, there is a strong need for procedures of developing multitemporal data layers, like soil moisture, landuse change, vegetation indices and develop models to characterize the temporal changes and trends of natural and human induced processes to support climate change research and agricultural and environmental applications. Knowledge based methods of observation point interpolations, data harmonization and correlation using environmental covariates are crucial for successful and meaningful modeling.
