Description of the research topic:
In the framework of an ongoing OTKA project of the Department of Structural Engineering we do research on the behavior and design method of earthquake resistant rocking structures. As a researcher and the supervisor of a PhD Student we concentrate on the design method development, in a new research topic we would like to develop new and cost efficient rocking structural systems for new and existing buildings, and for steel and reinforced concrete structures as well. In the research we would like to rely on the parallel developed design method, numerical simulations and furthermore after involving industrial partners and financial support of various project by the help of laboratory tests to be able to analyze various structural systems.
