Description of the research topic:

The history of Hungary was dominated by ruptures and political shifts in the19th and 20th centuries, and these political shifts strongly influenced cultural policy, including research and education. The broader ideological factors also influenced and sometimes even determined the conduct and nature of geography. Róbert Győri supervises research on the history of Hungarian geography and on the historical geography of Hungary with the aim of revealing the social, political, and cultural embeddedness of scientific knowledge.
