Description of the research topic:

The pain is an important phenomenon of life that help us to avoid harmful effects. However remaining chronic pain could significantly impair our quality of life and can also lead to other diseases. Neuronal network are found in the so-called dorsal horn of the spinal cord is responsible for receiving, processing the pain information primarily which then transmitted to higher brain areas. In our study, we examine the development of neural networks are responsible for this important mechanism during embryonic life. The nerve cells of the dorsal horn are born close to the midline and migrate into their destination area which is a crucial step for their network formation. Examining of these migration routes of different types of neurons in animal model system are the main aims of our projects. We expect to find the key molecules important for these processes which may provide meaningful data for the researches on new types of analgesics, which have no central side effects.
