Description of the research topic:
The objective of the proposed PhD topic is to examine the stepwise nature of martensitic transformations occurring in steels exhibiting TWIP/TRIP behaviour through the statistic evaluation of noise-type measured properties associated with the transformations. Measurements will be performed on thermomechanically treated samples in which different martensitic transformations will be induced. Correlations will be searched for between developed texture, noise-type properties and mechanical properties. A detailed data analysis will be carried out to differentiate between thermally induced ε martensite and strain-induced ε martensite.
