Description of the research topic:

Is the expansion of reading strategies to the direction of narrativity fertile enough in practice? Dissertations – that will analyze optionally chosen Hungarian poems – will have to concentrate on the problem that the communicational conditions of lyric poetry may not be constituted only by narrative patterns and constructions attached to sound. The narrative framing of the lyric speech situation indubitably entails analyzable multiple meanings. This approach requires the connection of the processes of organization to the position of the speaker and the analysis of a perspectively constructed, meaningful and linguistically mediated presentation, the modalities of which will be concretized in the communicational acts of enactment, description, experiencing, reflection and appellation. This presentation will be read as a mediation of inward phenomena (perceptions, thoughts, ideas, emotions, memories, desires, imaginations, attitudes). The site of the mediation of these inward phenomena will necessarily be a story that is constructed by the speaker of the poem for him or herself through a monological reflection and mental process. However, in the case of lyre, the possibility of multiple meanings does not necessarily stem from the hierarchical interdependence of the narrative organization of levels of utterance. Attention needs to be shifted to the dynamic events of linguistic configurations that do not take place at the communicational level of the narrative self-construction of the speaker. Analytical attention constrained by the differentiation between fictionality and reality does not expand to the observation of the fact that it is not the narrative level to which the sensation of syntactical-semantical density is connected, but the line, the rhyme, the figurative repetition, that is, the tension between the superimposition of different systems.
