Description of the research topic:
The main objective of the planned research is to reveal the host-pathogenic interactions of certain human pathogenic filamentous fungal model organisms (such as Curvularia lunata and Scedosporium apiospermum). Immunological processes as well as the those of the recognition and the response to the pathogen will be studied in various experimental systems. Gene expression and functional studies will also be performed to clarify the key factors of the pathogenicity at the side of the pathogen and the host.
