The investigation of mummified human remains is conducted in a multidisciplinary approach using methodologies of physical anthropology and pathology. This PhD research topic will make the applicants familiar with the steps of mummification, and the scientific methods of mummy analysis. Pathological conditions, lifestyles, diets of deceased individuals will be reconstructed from the mummified remains. The main data source of this project is the naturally mummified 18th century series found in Vác, but the Egyptian mummies of the Ptolemaic Gamhud site are also available for investigation.
