Description of the research topic:

The relationship between development and behavior has been known in the literature for centuries (e.g. A.Smith: The Wealth of Nations, 1776). Since the Brundtland Report, economic development and technologies for the maintenance of environmental carrying capacity have become the main issues of researches related to sustainability. However, the declaration that purpose of sustainable development is social welfare expanded the research area and replaced the concept of sustainable development for the concept of sustainable future. This new concept is supported by several institutions through social responsibility came to the fore. As stated goals and intentions has not been synchronized with results, the intention-behavior niche research has been launched and become more and more important. The announced topic also fits into these researches, as its main purpose is to examine the role of knowledge, changing attitudes and behaviors related to sustainability - contributing to the improvement of research methodology and the development of a knowledge based decision support system of a chosen field. It is also intended to find innovative solutions for production, consumption and education in diverse economic, social and cultural environment determining the correlations among sustainability, economic growth amd social welfare based on institutional and behavioral economics.
